Part-Time Nurse Practitioner – Express Care

Medical Associates of the Shoals is seeking a **Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP)** to join our Express Care team. This position is ideal for an experienced, patient-focused provider who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment and is comfortable evaluating and treating a wide variety of medical conditions.

The Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality, efficient patient care in our Express Care facilities and will be expected to work a flexible part-time schedule that **includes weekends**.

Position Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries.
• Perform comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
• Develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings.
• Prescribe medications and treatments within the scope of practice and applicable regulations.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging.
• Perform or assist with common Express Care procedures as appropriate.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and followup care.
• Recognize conditions requiring a higher level of care and appropriately refer or transfer patients when necessary.
• Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical staff, and other healthcare providers.
• Provide efficient, compassionate, and professional patient care while maintaining appropriate clinical standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team when consultation or additional support is needed.
• Follow all Medical Associates of the Shoals policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal and state regulations.
• Participate in weekend coverage as part of the regular parttime schedule.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
• Current BLS certification.
• Previous clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
• Express Care, Urgent Care, Primary Care, or Emergency Medicine experience strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decisionmaking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
• Strong commitment to patient care and customer service.

Schedule

• Parttime
• Flexible scheduling based on practice needs and provider availability.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Additional weekday shifts may be available based on staffing needs.
