Medical Associates Health Plans is hiring a part-time, Patient Services Representative to answer phones, emails, and perform office tasks in our Patient Services Department, a 24-hour patient assistance line. During your shift, you will work closely with a small team to triage phone calls, set up and cancel appointments, reporting, update doctor schedule, fax documents, and take switchboard calls.
Schedule: Hours for this position will be 4 hour evening shifts from 4-8pm, Monday-Friday. This position will be required to work some weekends and holidays. Able to pick up other shifts as well. Excellent shift differential and ability to work from home once trained!

- Perform clerical tasks within the Patient Services department to support Medical Associates Health Plan and Clinic staff. These may include but are not limited to answering, directing and triaging telephone calls, sending and receiving clinical information to/from providers and completing requested tasks, determining medical necessity for DME supplies requested for patients based on Medicare guidelines, and maintaining physician call schedules.
- Contact providers/office staff as necessary to complete requested tasks including but not limited to: paging, hospital and outside provider consults, physician access requests, and need for additional documentation for DME requests.
- Participate in the training of new staff. Maintain and up-to-date orientation manual as appropriate.
- Assist in creating policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the department.
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
