Product Specialist

MediaViz AI
San Diego, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 6/20/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/15/2026

Company Description MediaViz AI is a visual AI company offering a self-personalizing multimedia analytics and curation platform for businesses and individuals. The platform delivers high-speed photo analysis and insights, including image aesthetics, subject matter detection, and value assessment across large image collections. By helping organizations see the world as their customers do, MediaViz AI supports smarter multimedia management and content decisions. The company places individuals at the center of its AI solutions and makes its technology available through apps, APIs, and SDK licensing. This people-first focus drives both product design and customer partnerships.

Position OverviewThis is a manager-level role for a product leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. This role requires both the analytical rigor of a business analyst and the organizational command of an experienced product manager. You will work closely with engineering, QA, and executive leadership to keep development cycles efficient, transparent, and customer-aligned.

Key Responsibilities

Define What We Build

  • Own the product roadmap across video and image — not as a scheduling artifact, but as a living argument about where the market is going and how we win
  • Conduct product research, customer interviews, and competitive analysis to surface what matters
  • Engage directly with sales and prospects; you're as comfortable in a discovery call as in a sprint planning meeting
  • Synthesize signals from users, the market, and internal stakeholders into clear prioritization decisions

Translate Vision Into Engineering Reality

  • Write requirements at every level of fidelity: BRD, PRD, Epics, Stories, Tasks, Subtasks — from strategic framing down to subatomic detail
  • Own requirements in ClickUp across the full development lifecycle
  • Bridge the gap between what customers need, what the business needs, and what engineering can build
  • Lead product meetings — capturing requirements, driving decisions, and making sure follow-through actually happens

Communicate the Work

  • Serve as the primary interface between engineering, sales, and executive leadership
  • Present product direction and progress to senior leadership with clarity and confidence
  • Champion the end-user experience across every product decision
  • Demonstrate courage by challenging engineering approaches and executive roadmap decisions

Ensure Quality

  • Perform hands-on QA to build a deep, working knowledge of product behavior
  • Oversee UAT in collaboration with the QA Manager ahead of each release
  • Maintain consistent sprint and release cadences using agile practices

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Significant experience in product or project management within an SDLC environment
  • Strong business analysis background — proven ability to write detailed requirements from first principles through delivery
  • Experience taking products from concept to production
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct product research and translate findings into roadmap decisions
  • Hands-on experience with QA processes and product testing
  • Fluency with agile methodologies and work management systems
  • Executive communication skills — you can walk into a room of senior leaders and make a complex technical argument land
  • Meeting ownership and professional courage — you run meetings to the agenda, ensure every item gets addressed, and have the confidence to push back, ask hard questions, and advocate for a different direction when the situation calls for it. We are not looking for a note taker.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and executive teams
  • Proficiency in Scrum Velocity Calibration (SVC) methodology a plus

Nice to Have

  • Experience with video processing, media pipelines, or video-centric product development
  • Experience in AI/ML, computer vision, or data-intensive SaaS products
  • Familiarity with developer-facing products or API-based platforms
  • Experience with Git, Bitbucket, or similar development tooling
  • Familiarity with Reqflow or similar requirements traceability platforms
  • UAT process ownership experience

Work Requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills in English — you will be responsible for gathering insights and producing precise, well-structured documentation for engineering, QA, and executive audiences.
