Position Overview:

Primarily responsible for designs, implementing, and maintaining IPTV systems, ensuring reliable video streaming and digital signage. IPTV engineer is responsible for the technical aspects of IPTV, including network infrastructure, content delivery, and troubleshooting issues. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, testing, and validation of IPTV services, along with potential digital signage management.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the implementation, and operational support for digital video products.

• Maintain working knowledge of new technologies evolving in the in the broadband industry as IP VOD, H.264 video encoding, etc.

• Maintain accurate hardware and software configuration records to support digital video products.

• Assist with introduction of new code objects, software and configurations necessary to operate digital video systems, guides and content providers.

• Coordinate and integrate the introduction of new digital video products with third party service bureaus including, billing systems, guide services, middle ware providers and program vendors.

• Review and action regular reports on digital, VOD, and HD product performance.

• Assist with the development of monitoring for access controllers, VOD, and other platform data to show the performance of our IP video systems.         

• Maintain accurate configuration records on digital headend and VOD platforms.

• Support systems in troubleshooting digital platform and network issues.

• Responsible for special projects, tracking or other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Associates Degree or above preferred.

• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting that can be used for automating tasks and building custom solutions.

• Required – 2 years knowledge or familiarity with technologies like RTMP, HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and MPEG DASH    

• Preferred – 2 years of IP networking experience and understanding protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, and multicast is essential for designing and troubleshooting IPTV systems. 

• Must be a flexible, independent, self-motivated problem solver who can consistently work and enjoy a fast pace. 

• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers; ability to communicate verbally.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to travel to support system operations when required.

• Ability to work flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays as required.

• Excellent computer skills.

• Ability to identify and resolve network and video-related issues using tools like Wireshark and network analyzers. Responsible for special projects, tracking or other duties as assigned.

• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement.

   

• Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders. 

Physical Requirements:

• Extremely Light – Physical effort normally found in clerical work or the equivalent. Work is primarily sedentary; however, occasional handling of small objects (up to approx. 30 lbs.), and occasional walking or standing may be required.

Disclaimer: The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $80,000 per year. When making a job offer, we consider several factors in our determination, such as years of related work experience; relevant skills and qualifications; education level; and certifications/licenses.
