Summary:
The Newsroom Administrator serves as the main point of contact for office inquiries, scheduling, and administrative support. This role involves managing relationships with external community groups and vendors, handling all incoming and outgoing mail, and processing invoices and employee expense reports. The administrator also oversees office building maintenance, manages inventory of office supplies, and provides technical support for new employee onboarding.
This position will be three days per week, 6 hours per day with Tuesday's being mandatory in office
What you will do:
- Serves as the primary go-to person for all general inquiries, scheduling, and administrative support within the office environment
- Maintains relationships with external community groups, vendors, and other local entities for collaborative projects or services
- Assist in the planning and execution of company meetings and events
- Manages all incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting and preparing packages for shipment through various postal services
- Process invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and timely payment across different departments
- Oversees the maintenance and operational aspects of the office building, including liaising with vendors, and administering employee access control systems
- Monitors inventory levels of office supplies, ordering new stock as needed, and organizing storage areas
- Provides technical support for new employees during their onboarding, including setting up workstations, configuring computer equipment, and addressing initial technical issues
- Drafts and distributes internal communications to employees, such as announcements and event invitations
- Manage calendars, meetings, and travel itineraries efficiently, including booking flights, accommodations, and ground transportation
What you will bring:
- Proven effective verbal and written communications skills – must be able to work with employees of all levels in various departments and outside vendors – on a wide variety of issues
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent organization skills, judgment, and problem solving skills
- Must be able to prioritize responsibilities and make decisions accordingly
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 1-2 years office management experience preferred
Benefits and Compensation:
The hourly wage range is $22.00 - $25.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
