The Web Project Manager leads a team tasked with improving a government website by refining content to resonate with key audiences, enhancing user experience, and ensuring pages meet accessibility/compliance requirements.
An ideal candidate has a background in enterprise website renovation projects, working directly with government stakeholders and navigating the capabilities and constraints of legacy content management systems – such as AFPIMS (American Forces Public Information Management System).
Responsibilities:
- Rapidly develop a project plan and timeline, including key tasks, milestones, reviews, and deliverables.
- Facilitate collaboration between team members, government stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Coordinate/facilitate meetings and produce reports as required by the contract.
- Deliver measurable improvements, such as bounce rate reduction and System Usability Scale (SUS) score.
- Ensure acceptable quality levels (AQLs) are met.
- Manage all technical, financial, and contractual requirements.
- Be the expert on leading/implementing a website refresh and the primary point of contact for government stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Required
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- 8 or more years of experience managing website projects from start to finish.
- 5 or more years managing a web communications team, including UI/UX professionals, writers, and designers in a government environment.
- Demonstrated expertise working directly with multiple government stakeholders and balancing competing priorities.
- Expert knowledge of Section 508/WCAG Compliance.
- Expert knowledge of web communication best practices, including plain language, the use of visuals to convey information, and other optimization techniques.
- Experience with legacy content management systems used by the government.
- Develop solutions to constraints and changing priorities.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in communications, web development, user interface design/experience, or similar.
- Trusted Tester certification.
- Experience with AFPIMS.
- Working knowledge of background investigations and/or personnel/industrial security.
