What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flight Nurse position at MedHealth Partners/Angel MedFlight/Medway Air Ambulance?
Flight Nurses (RNs)
Who We Are:
We are MedHealth Partners. Angel MedFlight (www.angelmedflight.com), Medway Air Ambulance, and Critical Care MedFlight. Combined, we are the largest fixed-wing air ambulance provider in the U.S. for patients in need of vital medical transportation. We fly jets that are equipped as “flying ICUs” to safely transport patients throughout the country, generally from one hospital to another. While our patients are often seriously ill, we typically do not provide emergency care, and we do not operate any helicopter flights.
We are looking for full-time Flight Nurses (RNs). We seek exceptional clinicians who are passionate about serving our patients and their families, ensuring they receive the highest quality care at every stage of their experience with us. We expect our associates to be people-centric, patient advocates who enjoy working with others. If you are a team player looking for a rewarding career and the flexibility to live anywhere in the U.S., then MedHealth Partners is the place for you!
What We Are Looking For:
MedHealth Partners is looking for Flight Nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality patient care during all aspects of our patient transportation process via private jet. Clinicians are on the road traversing across the country serving our hospital partners. Each shift is eight (8) days on the road at a time. While previous flight experience is preferred, candidates with three years of critical care/emergency care experience will be considered for this role.
Your Schedule:
We are seeking full-time clinicians. You can live anywhere in the U.S. within 60 minutes of driving time to an airport with regular commercial air service.
Full-time clinicians work 8 days “on” and have 6 days “off.” During your shift, you will be picking up and treating patients from around the US, Mexico, Central America, and the Islands, and return home at the end of your shift. Full-time clinicians have full benefits, including paid time off. The clinical and pilot teams also get to earn hotel and commercial airline points while on shift. This added benefit provides our team members the ability to use hotel and airline points on their much deserved time off.
At the beginning of your assigned work shift, you will be flown at company expense via commercial airline to your first flight location, and you will spend the remaining days of your shift flying patients throughout the country and/or internationally on our medically equipped jets. Each crew member gets their own hotel room at the end of their day in the city where they finished their flights. You will be flown home via commercial airline on the last day of your shift.
What You Will Do:
The right candidates will have a good work ethic and compassion for patients. With your inflight medical crew team, you will provide advanced life support care from the initial pick-up point of the patient (typically a hospital) until patient care is transferred to the accepting medical facility. You will plan and prepare for flight missions by reviewing patient information, communication with Clinical Leadership, our office staff, and sending facility staff. You will assess the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize the care needed for the safe transport of the critical patient.
You will also:
- Enjoy working in a team environment on a multi-day shift with other medical crew team members and pilots who will become your “family” away from home
- Be willing to execute one or two flights per day, including overseeing the transportation of the patient from bedside to beside
- Maintain thorough patient care documentation and complete charting within the Company's established timelines
- Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing didactic, laboratory, and clinical experiences
- Maintain all required clinical certifications and attend in-service training as needed to maintain clinical competence
- Maintain adequate supplies onboard aircraft to deliver patient care and keep aircraft clean and orderly to ensure rapid response to all transport requests
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, hospitals, and the public
- Maintain compliance with annual and quarterly requirements by the Company's policies and accreditation standards
- Participates in Company committees, projects, activities and positively represent the Company in all interactions in public and on social media
- Attend clinical staff meetings either in person or online and participate in the development and review of patient care guidelines and standards as assigned
