Position - Medical Billing Assistant - Anesthesiology Practice (Revenue Cycle)
About the Practice
We are a successful physician-led anesthesiology practice supporting multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, seeking a detail-oriented Billing Assistant to support revenue cycle operations.
This position reports directly to the Practice Administrator and collaborates with our billing company, practice staff, hospital & surgery center staff, patients, and insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support revenue cycle management and medical billing operations
- Collaborate with billing company to review and follow up on various billing activities, monitor account statuses, and facilitate payment processing
- Communicate with internal staff regarding requests for additional information, notification of self-pay patients, etc.
- Communicate with patients and other external parties regarding billing matters as necessary
- Serve as liaison with hospitals and surgery centers regarding pre-admission testing waivers
- Provide administrative support and answer phones as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate or undergraduate degree preferred
- 4 years medical billing or revenue cycle experience required
- Anesthesiology or specialty practice experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a medical or business office environment
- Working knowledge of claims processing, coding workflows, and payer requirements
- Proficiency or working knowledge of Excel, various billing databases/portals, Outlook
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 annually
