Preschool Special Education Teacher
Medford Township Public Schools seeks a Preschool Inclusion Teacher for the Preschool Program for the 2025-2026 academic year. The candidate must hold Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities and Pre-3 Certification.
Primary Function
The Special Education Teacher provides direct and indirect academic and behavioral instruction and support to eligible students in a preschool classroom.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Assumes professional responsibility for providing specialized learning experiences to students with disabilities in a supportive and positive classroom climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge as outlined in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Prepares lesson plans with special education strategies designed to accelerate student progress.
- Is knowledgeable of current best practices in teaching early learning skills to students with special needs.
- Utilizes data to construct and offer differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of each student.
- Works collaboratively with administration, child study team, general education teachers, related services staff, and parents.
- Works in partnership with case manager to compose IEPs, as needed, to ensure that the needs of special education students are being met
- Demonstrates knowledge of current rules and regulations regarding special education and program requirements.
- Strong command of technology to support instruction.
Prior experience working with special education students is preferred.
