Special Education ACCESS Program Teacher

Medford High School
Teach and case manage a subseparate classroom of students requiring direct, appropriate individualized and small group instruction, based on IEP goals and objectives, within a highly supported setting. Curriculum is aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks as the access/entry skill levels of complexity. Methodology includes strong multi-disciplinary collaboration between instructional staff, related service providers and parents. Students participate in standards-based instruction while addressing social, motor and communication skills. Opportunities for facilitated inclusion components. The teacher participates in the supervision of paraprofessional staff, and service providers in a team oriented educational setting. There is a strong focus on transition and preparing students for post-secondary success.
Degree Preferred: Masters
Massachusetts Severe Disabilities license preferred
Experience Preferred: 3 years
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level (9-12) or discipline preferred.
Experience with Alt MCAS a plus
Salary is in accordance with the Medford Teachers Association Contract:
