Position Overview:
MedEx is seeking an experienced and driven Dispatch Operations Manager to lead and oversee our communications and dispatch team. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the efficient coordination of all transport requests, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.
The Dispatch Operations Manager will work closely with senior leadership and field operations to drive performance, implement process improvements, and ensure seamless day-to-day dispatch operations in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the dispatch center, ensuring efficient and timely coordination of all medical transport services
- Lead, coach, and develop dispatch staff, including scheduling, performance management, and training
- Establish and enforce dispatch protocols, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence
- Monitor system performance, call volume, and unit utilization to optimize deployment strategies
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex or high-priority incidents
- Collaborate with Operations, Billing, and Clinical teams to ensure seamless communication and service delivery
- Analyze operational data and generate reports to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Implement technology solutions and workflow enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide leadership support during nights, weekends, or critical incidents as needed
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in dispatch operations, EMS, logistics, or a related field (management experience strongly preferred)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage teams
- In-depth understanding of dispatch systems, including CAD software and real-time tracking tools
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive operational improvements
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and accountability
- Proficiency in computer systems and data management tools
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
