What You'll Do

As a Safety Professional, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe and compliant job site while partnering with project leadership and field personnel.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct regular job site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Work closely with construction crews, supervisors, and project management to promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

  • Implement and enforce OSHA regulations, site-specific safety plans, and applicable federal, state, and local safety standards.

  • Lead and participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project safety orientations.

  • Identify potential risks associated with heavy civil construction, roadway operations, equipment, and other high-risk activities.

  • Document safety observations, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.

  • Review and maintain employee safety training records and required documentation.

  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of preventive measures.

  • Support the development and implementation of Site-Specific Safety Plans.

  • Collaborate with project leadership to ensure compliance with general contractor and owner safety requirements.

  • Build positive working relationships with field personnel while reinforcing a strong culture of safety and accountability.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction safety experience.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and workplace safety regulations.

  • Experience conducting job site inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with construction crews, project leadership, and outside stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate safety documentation and reports.

  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous safety experience on heavy civil, roadway, highway, or infrastructure construction projects.

  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.

  • OSHA 500 certification.

  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects with multiple contractors and subcontractors.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, field-based position requiring regular movement throughout an operating construction site. Candidates must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, and climb stairs or ladders throughout the workday.

  • Navigate uneven terrain and active construction environments.

  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Perform essential safety inspections and observations in a construction environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
