The Director of People Operations is a hands-on HR leader responsible for overseeing and executing all core People Operations functions, including HR, Benefits, Payroll, and HR systems. This role partners closely with leadership to deliver compliant, scalable, and people-focused solutions that support business objectives across multiple distribution locations.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Manager ready to step into a Director-level role.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and actively participate in daily People Operations functions, including HR, Benefits, and PayrollPrepare, manage, and monitor the annual HR budget and related expendituresLead, negotiate, and administer the annual Open Enrollment process, including medical, ancillary benefits, and 401(k) plansTrack, administer, and support annual incentive and merit programsPrepare and deliver clear, timely, and effective employee communicationsLead, coach, and develop People Operations team membersNegotiate, manage, and evaluate HR vendor relationships to ensure service levels, cost effectiveness, and complianceDevelop, maintain, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and SOPsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulationsSupport leadership with HR reporting, analytics, and workforce insightsDevelop and deliver training programs for associates and leaders as neededCompensationBase Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience and skills)LocationRemote – Candidates may work from anywhere within the continental United StatesTravelModest travel required (approximately 5–10 trips per year)Includes Distribution Center visits and leadership/management meetingsExperience & Qualifications10 years of progressive experience in the HR field3 years in an HR leadership or management roleStrong consideration given to candidates currently in an HR Manager role ready to advance to DirectorDemonstrated experience and working knowledge of:Human Resources operationsCompliance training and employment law fundamentalsBenefits administration and Open Enrollment processesPayroll administrationAnnual merit and incentive compensation processesHRIS systems (experience with UKG or similar platforms preferred)Vendor management and contract negotiationBudgeting for HR, Benefits, and PayrollDesigning and delivering training programs for associates and leadersStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionNotice to all applicants: Medco Tool is a drug-free workplace.
