What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant position at Medcentrek?
Medcentrek is seeking a Medical Assistant OR a Medical Assistant to work at the Naval Health Branch Clinic Boone. We are open to full-time and/or part-time workers.
Work Location: 1035 Nider Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23459-8701
Work Schedule: Work can be scheduled any day of the week between the hours of 6:45AM – 7:00PM. Shifts are typically no more than twelve (12) hours per day. Requirements for services may vary on holiday weeks. The government provided schedule matrix shall reflect these changes. The clinic is open on the following Federal Holidays: Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday, President's Day, Columbus Day, Juneteenth, and Veteran's.
Qualifications:
· Education: High school equivalent and completion of NAACLS or two-part Phlebotomy program.
· Certification: Basic Life Support
· Experience: Must have performed 40 hours of classroom training, 100 hours of clinical training and 100 successful venipuncture (including skin punctures). Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years performing venipunctures and finger-stick on patients from pediatric to geriatric.
Job Duties:
· As directed, perform basic "waived testing" as defined by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), to include screening tests and other tests cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
· Prepare specimens for transport in accordance with Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) policy.
· Perform precise and accurate laboratory testing according to established laboratory procedures.
