Production Planning & Daily Flow Management

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Daily Flow Management
- Maintain and update the short‑term production plan based on customer priorities, capacity, and real‑time floor conditions.
- Verify that labor, materials, tooling, and documentation are ready before each job starts.
- Communicate daily priorities with Supervisors, Leads, Process Techs, and support teams.
- Identify risks such as machine downtime, material shortages, or labor gaps and escalate with recommended solutions.
- Adjust the plan throughout the day as issues arise, ensuring minimal disruption to output and delivery.
- Act as the central point of communication between Production, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Launch teams.
- Facilitate daily alignment on priorities, issues, and upcoming work.
- Track open actions from engineering changes, quality alerts, and production issues, ensuring timely closure.
- Support Supervisors by providing accurate, timely information to run their shifts effectively.
- Coordinate engineering trials, sample runs, validations, and process changes.
- Ensure materials, documentation, fixtures, and resources are prepared before trials begin.
- Maintain a visible calendar of upcoming trials and communicate impacts to production.
- Capture trial outcomes, issues, and follow‑ups, routing information to Engineering, Quality, and leadership.
- Support new product launches by coordinating readiness activities across all departments.
- Track first‑run performance and escalate issues quickly to minimize disruption.
- Communicates impacts to capacity, labor, and tooling availability.
- Ensure ERP entries for production, scrap, and material usage are complete and accurate.
- Prepare daily or weekly summaries of production readiness, constraints, and upcoming priorities for leadership.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and recommending process enhancements.
- Walk the floor daily to verify schedule execution, material availability, and operator readiness.
- Assist Supervisors with coordinating labor moves, machine assignments, and priority changes.
- Ensure tooling, fixtures, and documentation are staged before each job starts.
- Support containment, quality alerts, and corrective actions by coordinating resources and communication.
- Identify inefficiencies in communication, scheduling, or workflow and propose improvements.
- Participate in root‑cause investigations for downtime, scrap, or schedule misses.
- Support standardization of processes across shifts and departments.
- Help reinforce Medbio’s culture of accountability, readiness, and proactive problem‑solving.
- Track and report schedule efficiencies to plant management and Supervisors
- Directly reports to the Plant Manager, while working closely with production management, engineering, and quality. Needs to be a team player and work closely with entire Medbio team.
- 1-3 years in production coordination, scheduling, or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to manage data and reporting.
- Previous experience with ERP systems preferred; IQMS (DELMIAWorks) strongly preferred.
- Must be able to work and perform what would be considered standard practices for this type of position in the industry
