Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for pediatric patients to identify impairments and developmental delays
  • Develop and implement tailored speech-language therapy plans aligned with individual patient needs and goals
  • Provide engaging therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve articulation, language comprehension, fluency, voice, and social communication
  • Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive treatment approaches
  • Document patient progress meticulously within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR), maintaining accurate and timely records
  • Educate families on strategies to support communication development at home and in educational settings
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care for children with complex disabilities or developmental challenges

Skills

  • Proven experience working with pediatric populations in clinical, school-based, or early intervention settings
  • Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, language therapy strategies, and physiology relevant to speech production and comprehension
  • Skilled in conducting comprehensive assessments of speech and language functions using standardized tools and observational methods
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to speech-language pathology and child development
  • Experience implementing speech-language therapy plans effectively across diverse environments including telehealth platforms
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams including educators, therapists, physicians, and families
  • Knowledge of anatomy related to speech mechanisms and the physiological basis of communication disorders
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management
  • Valid license in the state of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children with disabilities or speech impairments from various backgrounds
