Role Description This full-time, on-site Clinical Dietitian role is based in Bowling Green, KY. The Clinical Dietitian assesses the nutritional status of patients, develops individualized nutrition care plans, and provides evidence-based medical nutrition therapy in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medical records, conducting nutrition screenings, performing nutrition-focused physical assessments as appropriate, and documenting all care in the electronic health record. The role includes providing nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers, as well as coordinating with physicians, nurses, therapists, and food service staff to support safe and appropriate nutrition interventions. The Clinical Dietitian also participates in quality improvement initiatives, maintains regulatory and accreditation standards, and stays current with best practices and clinical guidelines in nutrition and dietetics.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Dietetics and Nutrition, with the ability to apply evidence-based guidelines to diverse patient populations.
- Demonstrated expertise in Medical Nutrition Therapy, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring/evaluation of nutrition-related conditions.
- Proficiency in Nutritional Counseling and Human Nutrition, with skills in patient and family education, behavior change strategies, and culturally sensitive communication.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential or eligibility to obtain, with state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in Kentucky as required.
- Experience in an acute care or clinical healthcare setting preferred, including familiarity with interdisciplinary care, EHR documentation, and regulatory standards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize a dynamic caseload and work both independently and collaboratively.
