Job Summary
The Community Corrections Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and supervising individuals within the community correction system. This position involves developing and implementing case management plans, ensuring compliance with legal and program requirements, and supporting offenders in their rehabilitation journey. The coordinator acts as a liaison between the justice system, community organizations, and offenders. Candidates should possess strong communication skills. A bachelor's degree in corrections administration, criminal justice, the behavioral sciences, or related area.
Responsibilities
- Enforce court orders and community program requirements through effective supervision strategies
- Performs PBT and drug tests for day reporting clients. Performs pre-enrollment interviews, tracks progression of clients, and maintains program records.
- Oversees the tether program. Enrolls and supervises defendants on tether. Involves direct physical contact with the public when placing or removing tethers.
- Maintain accurate case records, documentation, and reports in accordance with County policies
- Manage conflicts or behavioral issues through effective conflict management skills
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in corrections administration, criminal justice, the behavioral sciences, or related area required.
- 2 years of progressively more responsible criminal justice experience, preferable with some administration experience.
- Proven experience in supervising individuals within a correctional or social work environment
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with offenders, colleagues, and community partners
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Pay: $27.42 - $28.52 per hour
Expected hours: 37.50 per week
