We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern to join our fast-growing KPI team. This internship provides hands-on experience in mechanical and HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEP/FP) engineering. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who’s eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to high-impact work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities
This position reports to the local Engineering Manager
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Language Skills
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with engineers, field teams, and vendors. Able to ask questions, take notes, and present ideas in team settings.
Mathematical Skills
Basic proficiency in algebra, geometry, and introductory engineering calculations. Comfort working with units, conversions, and basic technical formulas.
Reasoning Ability
Critical thinker with the ability to follow directions, seek clarification when needed, and apply logic to basic engineering tasks and site observations.
Physical Demands
Occasional job site visits may require walking, standing, or climbing stairs/ladders. Safety gear will be provided as needed.

We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern to join our fast-growing KPI team. This internship provides hands-on experience in mechanical and HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEP/FP) engineering. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who’s eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to high-impact work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Engineering and Project Management teams in planning and design activities
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and MEP/FP system layouts using AutoCAD or Revit
- Participate in site visits to observe installations, collect data, and verify field conditions
- Help create equipment submittals, technical documentation, and materials takeoffs
- Perform basic load calculations, pressure drops, and duct/piping sizing under supervision
- Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and field teams to gain a full lifecycle view of mechanical construction
- Contribute to engineering and construction process improvements and documentation efforts
- Support QA/QC efforts and participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Learn and apply engineering fundamentals in a real-world setting
- Deliver high-quality work that contributes to accurate design, project execution, and customer satisfaction
- Embody FirstCall’s values of integrity, quality, and accountability in all assignments
This position reports to the local Engineering Manager
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Completed sophomore year or above preferred
- Strong interest in mechanical/HVAC systems, design-build construction, and field operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting/modeling software a plus
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions
- Availability to work on-site in a hybrid field/office environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites, if needed
