About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Inspector to support our growing portfolio of infrastructure projects, particularly water/wastewater. The ideal candidate has 10 years of hands-on inspection experience in civil engineering construction, with a strong background in municipal utility systems, pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities. This individual will oversee at least one inspector to provide mentorship and ensure compliance with project standards.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations, while serving as a key liaison between contractors, engineers, and clients. The role is field-focused and will require regular travel to active job sites within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.
- Monitor contractor performance, construction methods, materials, and workmanship.
- Document progress through detailed reports, including photos, measurements, and test results.
- Lead and mentor junior inspector(s) by reviewing work, offering feedback, and ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Coordinate and oversee field and lab testing of construction materials as required.
- Identify and report non-conforming work and assist in resolving construction issues.
- Verify adherence to safety protocols and enforce OSHA standards on-site.
- Communicate regularly with project managers, design engineers, and client representatives.
- Attend project meetings and assist in reviewing contractor submittals, RFI responses, and change orders.
Qualifications
- 10 years of relevant construction inspection experience, preferably in water/wastewater or heavy civil projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, industry standards, and local codes.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (current).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction Materials Testing (CMT) certification (e.g., ACI, NICET, or equivalent).
Compensation
- This position offers a salary range of $65,000-75,000 annually, along with comprehensive health benefits, PTO, and holiday pay.
