POSITION SUMMARY
Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation is excited to add a dynamic Recreation Facility Manager to the team! This position will oversee daily operations at Berewick Recreation Center and a secondary recreation site located at Winget Park Elementary School. This includes but is not limited to supervising recreation staff, overseeing recreation activities and programming, managing rentals, and leading community outreach efforts. This position will also be responsible for budget planning and management for both locations. In addition, the incumbent will be an essential member of the team in creating strong and positive relationships with the community as well as internal partners and other external stakeholders. The preferred candidate would have strong experience leading a recreation staff and possess a proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends. This position may be required to work evenings and weekends based on business/facility needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3-5 years’ recreational leadership experience
- Recreation program planning experience
- Commitment to building and maintaining strong community partnerships
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage fiscal management, budget planning, implementation, execution and monitoring achievement of defined facility revenue and expense goals
- Monitor facility revenue through daily admissions, facility passes, fitness, wellness, and recreation programs, and facility rentals
- Manage staff including maintenance, program staff and customer service staff
- Manage and monitors vendor, agency, and individual contracts
- Participate in staff conferences in planning comprehensive recreation programs
- Investigate and take action on requests, suggestions or complaints concerning recreation services
- Provide leadership by introducing new programs, equipment and facilities to staff members and the community
- Order equipment and supplies as needed
- Responsible for inventory control of equipment and materials allocated to programs
- Establish and maintain partnerships with agencies, neighborhood groups and user groups for developing an effective recreation plan for the community
- Respond to emergency situations
- Complete and maintain statistical reports on programming, attendance, facility usage and other necessary topics.
- Promote the use of a facility for recreational use and rental opportunities.
- Supervise full time, part time and temporary employees.
- Create and manage staff schedules, coaching employees, and annual reviews.
- Approve program proposals.
- Complete monthly safety checklists and site inspections
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in recreation programming and One (1) year of supervisory experience or completion of an approved supervisor training program
Education: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration, Park and Recreation or a related field

Licenses/Certifications: Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges
Computer Skills: Proficient in various computer applications including Microsoft Office
