Job Overview
Mechatron Trackers is seeking a Technical Project Manager – Commercial Solar to lead and coordinate solar projects from initial site evaluation and system design through deployment and completion.
This role sits at the intersection of technical project management, solar engineering, construction, and customer coordination. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing commercial solar projects and a strong understanding of both the electrical and mechanical aspects of solar systems.
The Technical Project Manager will work closely with customers, engineers, contractors, vendors, utilities, and internal teams to ensure projects are designed effectively, executed efficiently, and delivered on time and within scope.
Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution for commercial solar projects.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules using project management tools.
- Manage project budgets, cost estimates, procurement requirements, and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate on-site and off-site teams, including engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
- Supervise technical work and participate in critical stages of project deployment and commissioning.
- Coordinate and support inspections with local jurisdictions and utilities.
- Review engineering plans, schematics, layouts, blueprints, and project documentation to verify technical accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate new project sites and support system design and layout development, identifying opportunities to maximize available solar resources and system performance.
- Coordinate with customers and project stakeholders to resolve technical or operational issues, adjust schedules when necessary, and maintain clear communication throughout execution.
- Ensure projects meet technical requirements, safety standards, quality expectations, and delivery milestones.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- 5 years of experience managing solar projects.
- Experience with commercial solar projects strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems and their electrical and mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, technical drawings, schematics, and site layouts.
- Strong project planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to coordinate across technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in the field and participating in project inspections and deployments.
- Ability to travel and occasionally drive long distances for customer visits, site inspections, and project execution.
Experience
Solar Project Management: 5 years preferred
Commercial Solar Projects: 1 year required
Electrical/Mechanical Solar Systems: Experience preferred
Language
English & Spanish: Required
Compensation
$65,368.60 – $78,723.48 per year
