What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independent Sales Representative – Dealer Warranty Programs (1099) position at Mechanics' Choice Warranty?
MCW provides vehicle service contracts and warranty programs to automotive and powersports dealers. We’re seeking an experienced independent sales representative to grow our used-auto dealer network in Virginia.
We’re looking for someone who has sold products or services directly to used-car dealerships and understands how to build relationships with dealer owners, general managers, and F&I managers. Existing dealer relationships are a strong plus.
What you’ll do
· Prospect and visit independent used-car dealerships within your territory.
· Introduce MCW’s automotive programs and explain their value to dealers and their customers.
· Sign new dealer accounts and help them begin selling MCW coverage.
· Maintain regular contact with dealers to support ongoing sales.
· Track prospects, conversations, and follow-up activity in our CRM.
· Coordinate dealer setup, training, and support.
What we’re looking for
· Prior business-to-business sales experience selling to automotive dealerships, preferably independent used-car dealers.
· Experience with vehicle service contracts, warranties, F&I products, dealer financing, or other dealership services is highly desirable.
· Confidence making prospecting calls, visiting dealerships, and following up consistently.
· Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
· Ability to manage your own schedule, prospecting, and sales activity.
· Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within your territory.
Compensation and support
This is a commission-based 1099 independent contractor opportunity with no base salary. Compensation includes ongoing sales commissions, incentives for qualified dealer meetings, bonuses for new dealer activations, and business mileage reimbursement. Full compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
MCW provides product training, sales materials, and support for dealer onboarding and account development.
Pay: $35,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
