Mechanical Specialists, Inc is an established mechanical contracting company specializing in HVAC and plumbing for commercial projects. We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support our operations by managing materials procurement and vendor relationships.
Position Summary
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and tracking materials and equipment to support ongoing projects. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
Key Responsibilities
· Purchase HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical materials and equipment
· Solicit pricing, issue and track purchase orders and submittal-related material purchases
· Maintain strong vendor relationships
· Coordinate jobsite deliveries
· Verify deliveries for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
· Coordinate with project managers on material needs
· Track backorders, lead times, and schedule-critical items
· Maintain accurate purchasing records and cost documentation
Qualifications
· Previous purchasing or procurement experience in mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or construction industries preferred
· Knowledge of plumbing materials and terminology is a strong plus
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
· Detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive
