MSD is looking for a Fire & Security Installation Assistant to join our team!

About the Role
The Fire & Security Installation Assistant works alongside an experienced Lead Technician to install, service, and maintain commercial fire alarm, security, camera, and access control systems. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to develop technical skills, earn an Ohio Fire Alarm License, and build a long-term career in the fire and security industry.
QUALIFICATIONS AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to take direction and work well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable and safety-focused
- Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Job Duties:
- Assist with the installation and service of commercial fire alarm systems
- Help install and troubleshoot security systems, surveillance cameras, and access control equipment
- Install and support network and fiber optic cabling
- Learn proper installation techniques and industry best practices from experienced technicians
- Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently
- Test systems to verify proper operation before project completion
- Maintain accurate documentation including labor, materials, and service records
- Attend training sessions and technical meetings to continue developing your skills
- Work toward obtaining and maintaining your Ohio Fire Alarm License
- Represent the company professionally while providing outstanding customer service
