The BSH Division is seeking a Drafting Technician for machine shop/repair facility. The drafting technician creates detailed drawings for machinery and mechanical components using CAD software. This role involves interpreting engineers' sketches, specifying dimensions and materials, calculating formulas, and creating electronic files for manufacturing. Key responsibilities include resolving design problems, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring designs meet required specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for making 3D and 2D Drawings and Bill of Materials for production
- Drawing review with production to ensure all necessary component parts, subassembly and drawings are created and available
- Dimensionally evaluate parts to drawings to determine if parts are correct or where deviations are present
- Make necessary modifications/revisions to existing drawings through coordination with production team
- Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions
- Communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Communicate with outside vendors as needed to achieve desired engineering outcomes
- Coordinate with purchasing on sourcing of project specific materials
- Reverse engineering of components using Hexagon (PolyWorks) with Romer Arm
- Perform and record measurements using calipers, Micrometers, and gages
- Modeling/Drafting platform will be Autodesk Inventor / AutoCAD
- 3D modeling and 2D drawing experience is required (Exp with Autodesk a plus)
- Modeling experience on any software platform acceptable (Exp with Hexagon and 3D Modeling software a plus)
- Experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Familiarized with dimensioning and tolerancing
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Focused motivated self-starter; able to meet deadlines
