Job Overview
Mechanical Designs of Virginia is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to inspect parts and help maintain the quality of our work.
Your primary responsibilities will include checking parts for accuracy and workmanship, identifying quality concerns, and preparing inspection reports when requested. You will have your own office for paperwork, inspection records, and reporting, along with hands-on responsibilities in the shop.
This is not an office-only position. When you are not inspecting parts or completing quality-related work, you will be expected to help with general shop duties.
Responsibilities
- Inspect parts for accuracy, workmanship, and conformance to job requirements.
- Identify and communicate defects, discrepancies, or other quality concerns.
- Prepare inspection reports when requested and maintain organized, accurate inspection records.
- Work with shop personnel to communicate inspection findings and help address quality issues.
- Assist with general shop work, material handling, organizing, and other tasks when inspection work is caught up.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and a careful, consistent approach to checking work.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and communicate clearly with coworkers.
- Basic computer skills for preparing reports and maintaining records.
- Willingness to perform hands-on shop work in addition to inspection duties.
- Previous quality control, parts inspection, or manufacturing experience is preferred.
