Position Summary
The Business Development Executive (BDE) is an early-career sales role designed for engineering-minded individuals who are energized by technology and eager to launch a career in enterprise sales. Based out of our Lisle, Illinois office, this role is focused on proactive outbound prospecting — identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities across the manufacturing, logistics, automotive, and consumer goods sectors.
This position is a critical pipeline engine for the North America sales team. High performers will have a clearly defined path to advance into a full-cycle Outside Sales / Account Executive role.
What You'll Do
•Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting via cold calls, email sequences, and LinkedIn outreach to target accounts across assigned territories
•Identify key decision-makers at manufacturing and logistics companies — including Engineering, Operations, and Automation leadership
•Research prospect accounts to understand their automation challenges and tailor outreach messaging accordingly
•Book and confirm qualified discovery meetings for the North America field sales team
•Log all prospecting activity, contact records, and pipeline data in HubSpot CRM with accuracy and discipline
•Collaborate with the sales team to refine targeting lists, messaging, and outreach cadences
•Participate in sales training, product education, and industry learning to deepen technical knowledge
•Provide feedback to leadership on market signals, competitive intelligence, and prospect objections
What We're Looking For
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
•0-3 years of professional experience; internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, automation, or technology is a plus
•Genuine curiosity about robotics, computer vision, and industrial automation — you get excited when you talk about how things work
•Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident and professional on the phone
•Competitive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented with a high sense of urgency
•Willingness to learn structured outbound sales techniques and follow a proven process
•Comfortable working in an office environment in Lisle, IL with regular collaboration with the local team
•Proficiency with LinkedIn; prior experience with CRM tools or sales engagement platforms is a bonus
What Makes This Role Unique
•You'll be selling cutting-edge 3D vision and AI robotics technology — not commodity software
•Direct exposure to enterprise sales cycles in a high-growth global company
•Mentorship from experienced enterprise sales leaders with deep automotive and manufacturing networks
•A transparent, merit-based promotion track into outside sales for top performers
•Collaborative, engineering-forward culture where technical curiosity is celebrated
