The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support manufacturing and quality functions through hands-on project work and day-to-day engineering activities. This role provides exposure to multiple areas of manufacturing engineering while working closely with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing engineering projects tied to specific departments and new business initiatives
- Spend a portion of time assisting in the Quality Lab
- Develop and maintain documentation, including work instructions
- Conduct time studies and analyze processes to improve efficiency
- Assist with cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
- Support creation of quote sheets for manufacturing cells
- Assist functional staff with routine and project-related tasks
- Complete assigned portions of larger engineering and process improvement projects
Job Skills Requirements
- Working knowledge of computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university
- Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
