Sanitation is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility by performing routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout offices, break rooms, restrooms, common areas, and warehouse support areas. This position helps ensure a professional work environment while supporting company safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize processing equipment, production lines, tables, conveyors, grinders, slicers, and other food processing machinery.
- Clean and maintain offices, break rooms, locker rooms, hallways, and common areas (production/warehouse)
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and wash floors, walls, drains, ceilings, and other facility surfaces.
- Remove waste, trash, and product debris from production areas.
- Properly handle, mix, and apply cleaning and sanitation chemicals according to safety guidelines and SDS requirements.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and sanitation procedures.
- Complete sanitation logs, pre-operational inspections, and required documentation accurately.
- Maintain sanitation tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Identify and report food safety, quality, or equipment concerns to management.
- Support USDA inspections and comply with all food safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in cold, wet, and refrigerated environments.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, gloves, hair nets, and hard hats.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
