PURCHASING ASSISTANT (30303)

Meats by Linz is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant to support our purchasing, inventory, and production operations in a fast-paced premium meat processing and distribution environment. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience who is eager to learn, adaptable, and capable of supporting both administrative and operational purchasing functions.

The Purchasing Assistant will work closely with vendors, warehouse teams, production, and internal departments to help ensure the timely flow of materials, packaging, and supplies necessary to support daily operations and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily purchasing activities and supplier communication
• Create, process, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of products and supplies
• Monitor inventory levels for packaging, production supplies, and operational materials
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, spreadsheets, invoices, and documentation
• Coordinate with warehouse and production teams regarding shortages, deliveries, and inventory needs
• Assist with USDA, export, and food safety documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Communicate professionally with vendors to maintain strong business relationships and resolve issues quickly
• Help investigate and resolve discrepancies involving invoices, shipments, receiving, or purchase orders
• Support urgent purchasing requests in a fast-paced production environment
• Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned

• 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, administration, logistics, or a related field preferred
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment
• Strong communication and follow-up skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments
• Willingness to learn USDA regulations, export requirements, and food industry compliance standards
