Duties
- Assist healthcare providers by preparing patients for examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs and recording patient histories
- Support patient intake processes and ensure accurate documentation of medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and assisting with specimen collection
- Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, confirming insurance details, and updating medical documentation
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of clinical areas while adhering to infection control protocols
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure compliance with ICD coding standards, pharmacology guidelines, and medical terminology accuracy
Experience
- Prior experience as a CNA or Medical Assistant preferred, but certification is not required, family practice or Urgent Care
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management
- Knowledge of medical terminology necessary for accurate patient care and documentation
- Outpatient or outpatient clinic experience in internal medicine or geriatrics is a plus, but not required.
