What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Director position at Meanwhile Back On The Farm?
Meanwhile Back on the Farm is looking for a Marketing Director to lead our marketing team and help
guide the continued growth of our brand.
This role sits at the intersection of brand, creative, e-commerce, and digital marketing. You’ll set the
direction for how Meanwhile shows up across our channels, lead the marketing calendar, and work closely
with our existing team to turn product launches, seasonal campaigns, promotions, and brand stories into
thoughtful, cohesive marketing.
We’re looking for someone with a strong creative eye who can see the big picture, give clear direction, and
make sure all the pieces come together—while still being comfortable jumping in and getting hands-on
when needed.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee the marketing team, providing direction, priorities, feedback, and support.
- Develop and manage the overall marketing calendar, including product launches, seasonal
- campaigns, promotions, events, and ongoing brand storytelling.
- Oversee email and SMS strategy, ensuring campaigns support both brand and sales goals.
- Guide organic social strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest, including content planning
- and overall creative direction.
- Oversee the e-commerce experience on Shopify, including merchandising, launches, promotions,
- and key website updates.
- Lead creative direction for marketing campaigns, photography, graphics, and content across
- channels.
- Partner with the team on digital advertising across Meta and Pinterest, including campaign
- direction, creative, and performance.
- Review marketing performance and use results to help guide future campaigns, content, and
- priorities.
- Work closely with leadership, product, production, and retail to coordinate launches and ensure
- marketing supports the broader goals of the business.
- Maintain a consistent Meanwhile voice, visual identity, and customer experience across every
- marketing touchpoint.
- Jump in on content creation, photography, design, or campaign execution when needed.
Experience & Skills
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in brand and digital marketing, ideally within e-
commerce, retail, fashion, accessories, lifestyle, or another consumer product business.
Experience with our core platforms is a strong plus, including:
- Klaviyo — email/SMS strategy, segmentation, automation, and reporting
- Shopify — e-commerce merchandising and website management
- Meta — organic social, advertising, and analytics
- Pinterest — organic and paid marketing
- Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop
- Canva
- Photography and visual content creation
You don’t need to be the person executing every task in every platform, but you should understand them
well enough to guide the work, review it, and know what good looks like.
Who We’re Looking For
You’re equal parts creative thinker and strong leader. You can take a big-picture goal and turn it into a
clear plan for a team to execute.
You have a strong eye for branding, photography, design, and storytelling—but you also understand the
numbers behind the work. You know when something needs another round, when an idea is worth
pursuing, and when it’s time to move on to the next thing.
You’re organized enough to keep launches and campaigns moving, collaborative enough to work across
departments, and hands-on enough that “Director” doesn’t mean sitting on the sidelines.
Most importantly, you understand how to protect what makes a brand special while continuing to move it
forward.
