Job Summary
As a Packager at Meals on Wheels Western Michigan, you will play an essential role in ensuring that our meals are packaged safely and efficiently for delivery. This position is vital to our mission of serving homebound older adults with nutritious meals and a caring touch.
Responsibilities
- Package meals according to established guidelines, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Retrieves and open products from storage to use in packaging process.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment safely during the packaging process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packaging area to promote a safe working environment.
- Dishwashing, including manual dishwashing and use of a commercial dishwasher.
- May assist in basic food prep as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in food packaging or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge and ability to use hand tools effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with assembly processes related to meal preparation is beneficial.
- ServSafe Food Hander Certification is preferred
