Location: Remote
Meals on Wheels of Mercer County is seeking an experienced Grant Writer (Contractor) to
support our mission of providing nutritious meals and services to individuals in need. The ideal
candidate has a strong track record of securing government and private funding and can manage
the full grant lifecycle independently.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities
- Write and submit high-quality grant proposals and letters of intent
- Manage a grants calendar and track deadlines, submissions, and reporting
- Prepare interim and final grant reports
- Gather program data and collaborate with staff for proposal content
- Ensure compliance with funder requirements and organizational policies
Qualifications
- 10 years of successful grant writing experience (government and private)
- Strong writing, research, and editing skills
- Experience with grant compliance, reporting, and nonprofit funding
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online grant portals
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Not currently employed by or contracted with a competing Meals on Wheels organization
Compensation
- Competitive; based on experience
- Remote contractor position (not benefits-eligible)
