What are the responsibilities and job description for the SECRETARY/PHLEBOTOMIST - FULL TIME position at MEADVILLE MEDICAL CENTER?
Full time day shift secretary/phlebotomy position. Weekend rotations may be required, and hours are dependent on location, volume, workload, and staffing.
SUMMARY
Collects blood samples and other specimens from both inpatients and outpatients in a professional and timely manner, consistent with accepted standards of quality patient care. Also performs clerical, receptionist, and customer service duties.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
High school education or equivalent, required. Training in phlebotomy or medical assistant course preferred.
Previous experience in phlebotomy and direct patient care preferred.
Current BLS Healthcare Provider card.
Stroke education is required. Refer to Administrative Policy A-148 for specific education requirements.
