Position Summary:
The Junior Accountant supports accounting operations by performing accounting functions. Provides backup in processing Payroll and Accounts Payable. Performs general accounting functions as assigned. May provide administrative clerical support to the CFO and CEO as needed
Essential Functions:
- Assist in preparing and posting journal entries and reconcile corresponding accounts
- Provide support to Controller and / or designee during annual audit and as assigned
- Provide backup in processing payroll, accounts payable and other designated expenses as assigned
- Assist in the reconciliation of bank accounts and employee expense accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist executive management with specific requests, when applicable
- Assist Controller and / or designee with staff training, upon request.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED) required. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Two years’ experience in accounting or finance required. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and foundation of internal controls. Experience gained in a healthcare business environment preferred.
