We are seeking an ambitious and trainable individual to join our team as a Woodshop Worker in our Cabinet Shop. This role will develop skills for crafting custom cabinetry with precision and attention to detail. THE ROLE
- CABINET FABRICATION: Cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to create custom cabinetry. Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery to ensure precise cuts and measurements. Maintain consistency in craftsmanship by following design specifications and templates. Perform General Laborer tasks as needed.
- QUALITY CONTROL: Inspect materials and completed products to ensure they meet company standards. Address defects or imperfections by repairing or adjusting as needed. Work with the team to refine fabrication techniques for continuous improvement.
- SHOP ORGANIZATION & MAINTENANCE: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following shop safety guidelines. Conduct routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure proper function. Keep materials and supplies organized for easy access and inventory tracking.
- COLLABORATION & EFFICIENCY: Work with the production team to meet deadlines and optimize workflow. Communicate with supervisors about project status, material needs, and potential issues. Assist in training and supporting newer team members as needed.
THE NEEDED SKILLS
- KNOWLEDGE: Consistent work history and hard work ethic. Prior experience as General Laborer, Construction Worker, Skilled Laborer, or similar role preferred. Awareness of workplace safety standards and practices, including PPE and tool maintenance.
- SKILLS: Accurate measuring, cutting, and assembly skills. Basic problem-solving skills to address minor defects or fabrication issues. Effective communication and teamwork skills for shop collaboration. Adaptability to changing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- ABILITY: Lift and move materials and finished products (up to 50 lbs) safely and consistently. Must be available for 16 hours of emergency snow removal each winter. A valid driver's license and ability to submit to a driving chec (motor vehicle record) and felony/misdemeanor background check.
