What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at MEADOWLANDS AREA YMCA?
- Responsibilities will focus on the upkeep and cleanliness of the entire building, including general areas, classrooms, fitness center, locker-rooms and bathrooms.
- Performing any combination of the following duties: window cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and overall janitorial duties.
- Keep immediate supervisor informed of any concerns or problems regarding the facilities.
- Room set-up and breakdown for events and programs
- Maintain an organized work space, by taking responsibility for the upkeep of supplies, materials.
- Work cooperatively with professional staff and other departments.
- Actively participate in all training sessions, designated meetings and special events.
- All other miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:

18 years of age

Outgoing, energetic, and engaging, self starter

Willing to work part time opening, evenings and weekends

Physical Demands: bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, setup and break down of tables and chairs.

Low Pressure Boiler Certificate a plus.
