What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinician position at Meadowhill Behavioral Health?
SUMMARY:
The Clinician provides documented individual and group clinical services to adolescent clients in a residential mental health program (up to 16 beds) according to the clinical design and with the goal of maximizing positive clinical outcomes for the persons served.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides quality clinical services to assigned clients.
- Conducts intake assessments, service/treatment plans, and discharge summaries
- Facilitates individual and group sessions; provides a minimum of weekly individual counseling sessions for all clients on their caseload.
- Engages with the client’s family routinely for purposes of inclusion in care planning, behavioral challenges and aftercare planning.
- Serves as the primary contact for families regarding client’s clinical treatment.
- Collaborates with the program’s prescribers to report symptoms, behavioral challenges and medication needs.
- Takes the lead on behavior management and behavioral planning for clients on their caseload.
- Participates in treatment team meetings, case review and supervision as directed.
- Participates in behavior management and verbal de-escalation as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS ANDEXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in counseling, education-counseling, mental health, social work or related field required (may substitute a bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of two years of supervised mental health counseling experience)
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervised experience in mental health or other related behavioral health setting required.
- Minimum of one (1) year working with adolescent populations required strongly preferred.
- Licensure or certification in mental health, counseling, or social work or actively working toward planned licensure, is preferred, but relevant experience may be substituted.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic health records required.
- Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in managing client behavior and resolving problems.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
