Admissions Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Obtains and reviews necessary medical/financial information in order to facilitate admissions process and to ensure continuum of care.
- Reviews required admission documentation with appropriate responsible party as per regulatory guidelines.
- Responsible for accuracy of assigned work. Reports problems involving assignments to Admissions Director or Administrator.
- Assists the Admissions Director in developing and managing a marketing plan to maintain census at budgeted levels.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and managed insurances.
- Assists the Admissions Director in compiling and reporting monthly admission and discharge data.
- Assists in reporting the daily census.
- Maintains communication with hospital Social Workers, Case Managers, and Physicians. Communicates admissions to nursing departments.
- Marketing in the community.
