What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permanent Substitute Teacher position at Meadowbrook Church Incorporated?
Meadowbrook Academy is currently seeking to hire a full-time Permanent Substitute Teacher for the remainder of the 25/26 school year. This individual should be an active and dedicated Christian who is, or willing to become, a member of Meadowbrook Church. A person who will hold in confidence matters of information that may be sensitive to the well-being of others. A person committed to excellence in their responsibilities. Below you will find a general description of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution preferred.
- Certified or working toward certification by the State of Florida preferred.
- Born-again, Spirit-led Christian with regular attendance at Meadowbrook church or a church with similar beliefs.
- Ability to work flexibly across all grade levels (PreK–12) and subject areas as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of child growth and development across early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school levels.
- Ability to adapt quickly to varying classroom environments, grade levels, and instructional expectations.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow Florida State Standards and school-provided curriculum resources.
- Basic understanding of instructional technology, including Newline Smart Boards, Skyward SIS, and IXL.
- Understanding of varied learning styles and ability to implement teacher-provided lesson plans.
- Strong classroom management, supervision, and student engagement skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a safe, orderly, and Christ-centered learning environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff.
JOB GOAL:
To provide consistent instructional coverage and student support across all grade levels (PreK–12), ensuring continuity of learning, student safety, and a Christ-centered environment when teachers are absent, and to assist instructional staff as a secondary paraprofessional when substitute coverage is not required.
