Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, dump trucks, forklifts, and tractors using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and transmission servicing to ensure optimal performance.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment is a must.
- Repair diesel engines, hydraulics systems, air brakes, shocks & struts, and electrical components with precision.
- Use heavy lifting techniques and equipment to handle large parts or machinery safely during repairs or assembly.
- Interpret technical schematics and service manuals to troubleshoot issues accurately across various industrial and farm machinery.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy equipment operation and automotive repair.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems like John Deere, Peterbuilt or similar brands.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of working with schematics for electrical or hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance including transmissions, tire service, alignment, suspension systems, and HVAC repairs.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, brake repair, hydraulic systems, and power tools usage.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs or assembly tasks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members.
