Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Provide compassionate dementia and Alzheimer's care, implementing memory care strategies to support cognitive well-being
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and mobility needs
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary plans and assist with feeding when necessary
- Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to encourage participation and emotional well-being
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and memory care best practices
- Ability to perform safe patient lifting practices and heavy lifting when required
- Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid/CPR certification
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Competence in maintaining cleanliness through cleaning tasks and adhering to health standards
