Fleet Service Technician II

Morrow-Meadows Corporation is accepting applications for a full-time Service Technician II. The Service Technician II supports company operations by independently performing advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and complex repair work on Morrow Meadows fleet vehicles and light equipment. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, maintaining safety compliance, and ensuring dependable performance across all job sites while serving as a technical resource to other team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs advanced safety inspections, work quality control, routine maintenance, and preventive maintenance on automobiles, light and medium duty trucks, electric carts, and light construction equipment.
  • Independently inspects, diagnoses, repairs, overhauls, and replaces complex systems and components including powertrain, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, HVAC, exhaust, electrical, fuel systems including diesel and gasoline, hydraulic systems, emissions systems, and computer controlled components.
  • Responds to road calls and independently performs on-site diagnostics and repairs.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed.
  • Identifies required parts, prepares parts request forms, conducts quality control on received parts, and ensures proper installation.
  • Assists in troubleshooting recurring mechanical issues and recommends corrective action.
  • Provides guidance and training to less experienced technicians.
  • Maintains tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
  • Disposes of hazardous materials in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Participates in Company required training and remains current with new vehicle and equipment technologies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years of experience performing duties comparable to an Equipment Mechanic, supplemented by specialized training courses, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Class C California Driver’s License with a clean driving record at time of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions in mechanical repair environments.
  • Ability to interpret and work from sketches, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in using a desktop computer for documentation and reporting.
  • Must supply and maintain small hand tools measuring less than one inch and twenty four millimeters in size.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel up to two nights per month as needed.
  • Current ASE Certification or equivalent dealer or OEM certification required.
