Maintenance Supt - Manager

JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE SUPT - MANAGER

LOCATION: PASADENA, TEXAS

SALARY: $120 - $137K PLUS BONUS

Position Overview

Responsible for overseeing maintenance and project activities at the company's Houston plant, including capital and project budgets, annual shutdown planning and execution, maintenance and engineering systems, and supervision of coordinated maintenance efforts.

Essential Job Functions

Maintenance & Reliability

• Collaborate with Technical Advisors to implement maintenance procedures that support mechanical integrity and plant reliability.
• Monitor and report plant expenses and capital project costs.
• Identify necessary maintenance activities through daily coordination with production supervisors.
• Manage the plant’s Mechanical Integrity Program, including specifications, documentation, and notifications.
• Lead the Plant Reliability Program by identifying improvement opportunities, developing action plans, and ensuring implementation. Analyze PM (Preventive Maintenance) scope, scheduling, and historical data to improve efficiency.
• Oversee the daily work order system, including generating reports and tracking work orders and parts inventory via SAP ERP.
• Plan, schedule, and report on all aspects of planned shutdowns, categorizing and prioritizing short- and long-term work requests.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and enhancing company policies and procedures.
• Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors to ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations.
• Oversee maintenance parts inventory and ensure timely availability of required equipment and materials.
• Support special projects such as shutdowns and turnarounds; assist engineering teams with problem resolution.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety in all maintenance planning and execution. Monitor contractor safety compliance.

Training & Compliance

• Develop and manage the annual training schedule. Maintain accurate training records.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering preferred), with a minimum of 7 years of industry experience in a maintenance function, or at least 10 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor/leader.
• Strong background in maintenance within chemical or polymer manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera, and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Skilled in interpreting P&IDs, isometric, and structural steel drawings.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Demonstrated experience supervising small teams, including both in-house staff and external contractors.
