General Manager (Marine / Shipping Industry)
Reports to: CEO
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our operations. This role is responsible for driving business performance, leading the local management team, and executing strategies that support sustainable growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience combined with a solid understanding of the marine, offshore, or shipping industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full operational responsibility for the business unit, including Sales, Service, and Operations
- Translate company strategy into clear, measurable (SMART) objectives and ensure execution
- Develop and deliver accurate revenue forecasts (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Drive business growth across existing and new markets, products, and services
- Establish and manage local sales strategies, policies, and procedures
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through quality service and continuous improvement
- Support and mentor the sales team in building strong relationships with key industry decision-makers
- Lead, develop, and evaluate direct reports, including:
- Operations Manager
- Service Manager
- Financial Manager
- Sales & Business Development Manager
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training and development needs
- Monitor financial performance, including revenue, margins, and cost control
- Analyze market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic decisions
- Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and cost-conscious behavior
- Provide regular reporting to the CEO on performance, forecasts, risks, and opportunities
Industry & Background Requirements
We are open to candidates from a variety of related industries, including:
- Marine / Maritime / Shipping (tankers, container ships, offshore vessels)
- Offshore oil & gas (supply vessels, anchor handling vessels, deep-sea operations)
- Shipyards or vessel operations (including onboard experience)
- Marine electrical or technical services
- Cruise line operations
- Manufacturers or suppliers serving the marine industry (especially electrical or technical components)
- Companies providing navigation, radar, or communication systems
Strong preference for candidates with experience in:
- Marine electronics, radar systems, or communication equipment
- Technical sales, service, manufacturing, or support within the marine sector
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree is a plus, not required
- Equivalent industry experience will be strongly considered

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: USD $135,000 gross per year PLUS
- Performance Bonus: Up to USD $45,000 annually, based on individual and company financial targets
- Paid Time Off: 20 working days (160 hours) of paid vacation per year
