Meador & McCasland CPAs have offices in Green Forest, AR and Branson, MO. Our company was founded in Green Forest, AR in 2002. We added a second location in 2018 by purchasing Bearden’s Tax Service in Branson, MO.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant / Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team. This full-time position will support our client accounting and bookkeeping services by managing payroll, sales tax reporting, account reconciliations, and general bookkeeping functions. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts efficiently.
Job Duties:
- Process payroll and maintain employee payroll records
- Set up payroll accounts for new clients
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports and related filings
- Schedule and submit payroll tax and payroll liability payments
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting reports
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding payroll, bookkeeping, and accounting matters
- Maintain organized client files and documentation
- Assist with additional accounting and administrative projects as needed
- Assist with audits for worker’s compensation, unemployment, or state withholding and sales tax audits for business clients
Job Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2 or more years of bookkeeping, accounting, or payroll experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail is a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Drake and QuickBooks knowledge is preferred
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Proficient in PC and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Time management skills
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality in handling client information
