Construction Accounting Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting functions for a local erosion control company. This role will assist with AIA billing, pay applications, accounts receivable, collections, retainage tracking, lien releases, and project accounting documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable communicating with our operations team, customers, vendors, and internal team members.

Job Description:

·        Prepare and assist with AIA billing, pay applications, and required supporting documentation.

·        Track retainage, lien releases, collections, and other project-related accounting requirements.

·        Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes as needed.

·        Maintain accurate project accounting records and organized documentation.

·        Communicate with project managers, customers, vendors, and internal team members to resolve billing or payment questions.

·        Assist with general accounting and administrative tasks to support the accounting department.

Qualifications:

·        3-5 years of accounting experience required.

·        Construction accounting experience preferred.

·        Experience with AIA billing, pay applications, retainage, lien releases, and collections preferred.

·        Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, email, data entry, and accounting or project management software. Experience with Trimble Pay, GC Pay, Textura, Procore a plus.

·        Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and organized records.

·        Excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills.

·        Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
