Meade District Hospital is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our laboratory team. This position performs a variety of laboratory tests that help physicians diagnose, treat, and prevent disease.

What You’ll Do

Collect patient specimens and perform phlebotomy as needed

Perform laboratory testing in:
- Clinical chemistry
- Hematology
- Urinalysis
- Serology
- Bacteriology
- Blood bank
- Clinical chemistry
- Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids including blood, urine, and spinal fluid

Perform manual and automated hematology testing

Conduct blood typing and compatibility testing for transfusions

Set up and read bacteriology cultures

Enter and document test results in the laboratory information system

Perform quality control testing to ensure accurate results

Monitor and record daily equipment temperatures

Perform routine preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment

Follow hospital policies, procedures, and patient confidentiality standards

Participate in on-call rotation including:
- 1–2 weekday calls
- 1 weekend per month
- Rotating holidays
- 1–2 weekday calls
Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field required

MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent) preferred or eligible within a specified timeframe

Ability to work on-call, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate testing

Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills

Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
